Low Cost Spay/Neuter Program

Picture
Douglas County Humane Society (DCHS) has partnered with West Georgia Spay Neuter Clinic (WGSNC) to assist families with spay / neuter of their animals.

To assist Douglas County residents, DCHS will pay a portion of the cost to spay / neuter directly to WGSNC when you get your animal spayed / neutered.  Residents can purchase additional low-cost services, for example, heartworm prevention, flea and tick prevention, additional shots, at time of service.

Following are the guidelines to receive help.
  1. Contact DCHS at info@dchsociety.com or leave a voice mail and your call will be returned.
  2. DCHS refers you to WGSNC.
  3. Resident calls WGSNC to schedule an appointment.  You must say you are referred by DCHS to receive assistance.

  • At time of scheduling, Douglas County resident pays $20 surgical fee when making an appointment that is applied toward the cost of spay / neuter.
  • DCHS will pay directly to WGSNC the difference to cover the total cost of spay / neuter.
  • Resident would pay $12 for a rabies shot if they do not have proof of current rabies.
  • Resident provides proof of Douglas County residency and proof of need, for example: EBT card, Medicaid info, etc.

WITHOUT Proof of Need

  • DCHS will pay up to $50 for surgery directly to WGSNC to help reduce the cost of spay / neuter.
  • Resident will pay remaining balance per WGSNC pricing of services. Please ensure you are aware of your total financial responsibility before agreeing to surgery at WGSNC. DCHS is only responsible for assisting in surgical cost.
  • Resident would pay $12 for a rabies shot if they do not have proof of current rabies.
